The L.A. Scruggs Medical Society and Wake County Medical Society invite you to an evening of conversation and connection focused on improving access to care across North Carolina. Held March 12 at WakeMed, the program features a screening of the short documentary “Someone Else’s Shoes,” highlighting the legacy of St. Agnes Hospital in Raleigh and the trailblazers who helped expand healthcare access in Wake County.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet Physician Producer Dr. Cheryl Walker-McGill. Following the film, a distinguished panel of healthcare leaders—including Dr. Edwin Burkett, Dr. John Perry, Dr. Rasheeda Moore, and Dr. Marie Debnam—will lead a discussion on strengthening the healthcare workforce and expanding access to care for underserved communities. The evening includes dinner, networking, and meaningful dialogue aimed at advancing health equity statewide.
